The african holly is a hardy herbaceous plant native of the Southern and Central American countries as Costa Rica, Chile and parts of Europe and Africa. This general plant of technically called the "Solanum" are found in varieties of decorative and edible. One most notably and common to us all, the eggplant. Look for the african holly, or solanums by the unique five petaled rotating, purplish or white coloring and five stamens in short proximity to one another.
