A fast growing daisy plant closely associated with the African Daisy, the Baberton Daisy is a annual plant with deeply lobed leaves around the base. They can be found in a variety of colors, in both single and double lobed. Tehcnically called the Gerbera, were first found in, of course the souther part of the continent Africa.
The barberton daisy comes in several varieties such as white, cream, yellow, orange-pink, crimson, purple or violet. These plants are usually grown in greenhouses and are used for cut flowers, but in mild climates, they can be cultivated outdoors. It is important to feed with a liquid fertiliser a couple of times during summer and water often always ensuring that drainage is adequate.
