Larkspur
Facts
The larkspur is a major group of beautiful flowers. Native of places like the Middle and Far East and California. Different varieties include the Delphiniums clump forming perennials that bloom from early to mid-summer. Their leaves are divided, lobed, and range from mid- to bright green. Hybrids of D. belladonna are also clump-forming perennials, but with more thin, wiry stems that produce branched spikes of spurred flowers. Larspurs or delphiniums are thought to have a more elegant flower - certainly the stalks are heftier and the florets larger and more elaborate. Famous as a fresh flower, it also dries particularly well.
