Alpine Rose
Alpine Rose
Facts
The Alpine Rose. Perhaps, as far as I'm concerned, no family group of flower is better known or more widly used by people. This group of plants has varations such as the rhododendron and azalea. From all the hybrid forms cultivated over time the Alpine rose rhododendron or azalea, the size of these plants varies greatly. Even the various leaf sizes can go from less then an inch to up to 2 feet in width.
The alpine rose, or rhododendron or azalea, grows wonderfully in mild temperatures, and can bloom any where from late February all the way to Late August. These plants come in many different varieties of color from bright orange, to rosey red. The bloom of the alpine rose is noted by a bell shaped flower. The alpine rose also has a wonderfully distinct fragrance.
