Lavender Facts

Lavender originates in the countries along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and there are many varieties. Different varieties of lavender plants and flowers have been cultivated over time, as is found in France all the way to the Australian contient. Lavender has really been used more for purpose than beauty. Most notably its' fragrance as captured in sachets and potpourris. One great and probably unknown fact is that the oil extracted from lavender flowers provides an incredible decongestant for stuffy sinuses. Just mix with some hot water or place in a warm towel to the face. Lavender needs regular sunshine and to be plented in loam filled soil that drains well.
